The dream of disgraced former Aviation Minister Ms Stella Oduah` and that of Mr Andy Uba to contest for the Senate in Anambra State has been dashed. Stella Oduah who is the boss of SPG Oil and Gas failed to make the list of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidates released on Tuesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ms Oduah, who failed to clinch the Anambra North Senatorial ticket in last year's party primary, was said to have reached out to Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the Secretary to the Federal Government, to influence INEC to get her name fixed into the final list. The plan failed, as INEC released the name of John Okechuckwu Emeka in her stead due to court order.
In the same development, Andy Uba, an ex aide to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo didn't made the final list released. He was replaced with his younger brother, Chris Uba as the PDP candidate for Anambra South in the forthcoming general election.
Both Andy Uba and Stella Oduah were annointed candidates of President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, but they both lost in last mont
h’s state party primaries.
