In good times and bad time they weathered the storm together as a couple, until six months ago when death snatched one - Branama Queen Kefee Don Momoh. Her widower, Teddy Don Momoh is spearheading a memorial concert for the deceased on February 5, 2015 in Lagos, at the event Kefee's new songs and videos would be released to the market. Teddy an on air personality talk more about this and how he has coped without the late singer
Why a post humous birthday for Kefee?
She has always done something for her birthday, she is one half of my heart and since sge is not here , I still need to carry on with the tradition, that’s is the basis for this event. It is a memorial service for her fans free of charge no gate takings.
How did the two of you celebrated her birthday last year?`
We were in the United States then, we went to Orphanages in the US in California
This year you would be celebrating without her, how emotional will you be?
I don’t think I would be without her because I still feel her around me, it is her day so she would be with us that day. She is somebody I will never forget
How would you describe life without her?
I will miss her so much, it is like waking up in the morning and find myself in the kitchen once again, unlike before when I wake up and a cup of juice is waiting for me already, one of her characters was she was a very good cook. And then you realized you are doing that all by myself
Whats your plan to move on and remarry?
For now it is all about her, I am still connected with her now.
Can you recollect fondest memories with her?
Waking up everyday and seeing her by my side is one, it is like having an angel, that’s memorable and she is no longer there for me. Sometimes also when I wake up in the middle of the night and then I look at her all that is no longer there, having her by my side alone was joy
Many conflicting accounts of what actually led to her death have been written in the past, can you tell us the true story of her death?
I was in Nigeria when it happened, I was editing some of the videos we are planning to release now, we had came back to Nigeria together. She went back to the US to do more stuffs and to complete some other things we couldn’t finish and then she had some shows and concerts in California US. She had finished the concert she was on her way back, according to the report from the doctor she died of “Collapsed Lungs” we cant question God in this circumstance.
There was also another talks in town that Delta state bankrolled her burial, what is the true story about that?
That is personal between us the family, I cant say anything about that. Whoever supported us for the burial is a personal thing.
How many of her songs still remain unreleased?
So many still yet to be released
What are the greatest lessons you have learnt so far since she died?
Whatever you want to do, do it on time because life is short and it is just one life, whatever you think of doing do it now, the next minute is not your own, the time you have is now, live for the now.
