The wife of Nigeria's President Hajia Aisha Buhari at the moment does not want unnecessary friendship from top society women. She does not also want to be tagged the social type either. She indicated this development when immediately her husband won the Presidential elections in March when she declined an invitation to a dinner organised by billionaire business woman Hajia Bola Shagaya.

And weeks after the Bola Shagaya episode, she replicated the same stance when former Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. Mrs. Funke Osibodu in company some of her high profiled friends extended a warm gesture to Mrs. Aishat Buhari, as Nigeria's First Lady to host her to a private dinner ball in honor of her husband’s inauguration.

Talks about town have it that Aisha Buhari politely turns down the gesture, even though there were no reasons given. But her move may be on an advice of presidential handlers who want to contain growing controversies about her person. She has been advised to shun moves that would stoke up controversies around her personality.

Hajia Aisha Buhari it would be recalled has been named with controversies for days now ranging from hobnobbing with sponsors of past president Goodluck Jonathan, who contested against her husband, her picture inside OANDO's Wale Tinubu in an Helicopter was widely criticised on the social media. She has also being labelled as reneging on her earlier promise not to be called Nigeria's First Lady and only days back controversy came up over her N10million wrist watch she adorned to the inauguration of her husband as against claim that she and President Buhari are family of modest lifestyle.
