U-23 National Team coach, Samson Siasia, has said he and his wife Eunice actually celebrated their 27th years in marriage contrary to what have become a widely spread 30th anniversary that has been an issue in the social space in the past few days.
According to Coach Siasia, he actually celebrated his 27th marriage anniversary and not 30th as has been reported in the media. He said he got married at age 20 in 1988. Noting that the marriage anniversary party was not organised by him or his family but by his friends and back-room staff of the U-23 National Team, Siasia said he notified the organisers of the error when he saw the cake.
But in an interview his wife Eunice granted Weekly Trust and published on their news site on Saturday, 28 March, 2015 she claimed the couple will soon celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. In the interview she was asked about how many children she has this was her response, "They’re seven - five boys and two girls. We will be 30 years together very soon in marriage."
Eunice and Samson Siasia, a former Nigerian football international star and coach of the national U-23 team, also known as Dream Team VI reportedly met in Benin when the latter came to Flash Flamingoes to play in 1985. According to his wife Eunice, "there was nothing dramatic. I just met a stranger and fell in love with him." They got married about two years after they met and are now blessed with seven children.
