Shodeinde's burial have being fixed for Friday May 15 at the Ikoyi Cemetary
Lagos. Details as released by his family indicated that the event is scheduled
to kick off with an Open Air Funeral Service' at The Havillah Events
Center, along City of David Church, Oniru Estate at 9.00am. The body will
be moved immediately after the service via a motorcade to its final resting
place at Ikoyi Cemetery.His family opted for a quick and simple burial considering what he went through while he battled diabetes and kidney related ailment. The general consensus is that there is no need to prolong emotional and economic agony with a delayed and elaborate burial.
Akeem Shodeinde’s death didn’t come as a shock to his close allies and associates, what many didn’t know is the last minute moves that couldn’t save the life of the top socialite. Those close to him knew death may come any time as Akeem was diagnosed of acute diabetes yet never slowed down on his drinking and smoking habit. Having been operated in India and UK and living on a Kidney, Sodeinde returned to Nigeria to re-launch his club in style. He was advised to stop drinking, but he turned deaf ear to such advice. He continued with his routine drinking and smoking, as he never slowed down on clubbing, gambling and partying.
While alive he planned of having the biggest mega night club in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria. He reportedly told friends that he wants to have a mega club in Abuja where he can replicate what he did with Movida, Lagos for fun seekers in the capital city. Sodeinde popularly refer to as General died in the early hours of Sunday May 10th in his sleep having suffered a Kidney relapsed.
Akeem was the first born of his mother and has two siblings, Bola and Sherrif. He equally had a daughter, Mitchelle from baby mama Makamba. His short-lived marriage to ex wife, Chioma younger sister of ex wife of money man Charles Ahize did not produce any child.
