Yomi Obateru |
"To me, the thing that is worse than death is betrayal. You see I could conceive death, but I could not conceive betrayal" wrote Malcolm X. This timeless quote would no doubt be meaningful to Lamide, wife of Yomi Obateru Akinruntan who has raised the alarm that her best friend has taken over her husband of ten years.
It was allegedly revealed that Laide, Olamide’s best friend is in a secret affair with Prince Yomi Akinrintan, the first son of Oba Akinruntan, owner of OBAT Oil & Petroleum Limited, who has been married to Olamide for ten years with three kids. The marriage of Olamide and Prince Yomi is presently facing a rough patch because of the revelation of the secret affair.
A source maintained Laide and Lamide were close pals, the duo attended functions together and Laide was always at Olamide’s house, eat from same plate and always in the company of each other but Olamide cries out as she came to reality to understand that friendship is no longer what she takes it to be since her best friend can break her home by sleeping with her husband.
And because of this development Laide Badmus' friends are not going easy on her as they took to their social media networks to express their displeasure. On Ogunlana Tejumade, Olamide’s friend Facebook page, she called out on Laide Badmus saying, “It shall not be well with you Laide Badmus” prior to that, she posted “beware of people that call themselves your friends, but come into your home to destroy it!!! They spread false rumours and gists about you and at the end of the day date your husband. People like that are certainly evil and should be stoned to death!!!”
However from Laide's camp is a rebuttal, they claim Olamide's wayward lifestyle cost her her marriage, they claim she sleeps around and it has gotten to her husband’s knowledge and that Laide and Yomi have being friends for long. Laide is said to be at the receiving end of abusive messages on the social media and some even going to the extent of threatening her life.
We gathered that Laide wrote a petition to the police in which she claimed that her life was being threatened by one Seun Eboda, also known as ‘Maja’. Claim also has it that Laide became scared when she started reading accusations on social media and from their mutual friends that she is dating Lamide’s husband and that Lamide’s marriage has been having issues from the onset, as her father in-law, Oba Akinruntan was said to have never been in supportive of their union.
