ORITSEJAFOR DENIES COLLECTING N7bn BRIBE FROM JONATHAN

Hours after a Borno based Pastor Kallamu Musa-Dikwa claimed that Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) was truly bribed N7billon and not N6billion as widely speculated, the president of the Christian body Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor have come out to counter the claim labelling it as wicked and tale of lies.

Pastor Kallamu Musa-Dikwa, claimed late Thursday that the money that was given to pastors by the President was actually N7billion and not N6billionn as earlier alleged by Governor Rotimi Amaechi. Musa-Dikwa, who is the Executive Director of the Voice of Northern Christian Movement, added  that the said money was channelled through the Christian Association of Nigeria.

He said CAN got the money on January 26, 2015 and disbursed N3m to each State Chairmen of the CAN across the country. “President Jonathan is using CAN President, and it was him who collected the monies and shared N3m to the CAN executives in each state." “And some Pentecostal Bishops also collected their share. Actually, the money is not N6bn, it is N7bn. This is what I know. One of the CAN officials from Abuja told me that they have collected the money."

But earlier today The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, debunked the allegations that it collected N7 billion bribe to campaign against the All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd).

The christian body while describing it as a ‘fat lie’ wondered why mischief makers would concoct lies to deceive the public. Public Relation Officer, PRO, of Northern CAN, Mr. Sunday Oibe, said: “The allegation is a complete lie and just one of the many evil plots to dent the image of CAN’s leadership."

“It is also to rubbish its integrity and make it morally incapable of leading Christians in these trying times. There was no way anybody would collect a kobo on behalf of CAN and start sharing it like booty." “The man, who made the allegation, is totally unknown in CAN cycle and I am just hearing his name and that of his organization for the first time. How come he could be privy to such an arrangement if it really existed?"
