HOW STELLA OKOLI'S ESTRANGED HUSBAND DIED OF LUNG CANCER...........HIS PITIABLE LAST DAYS IN UK

Prior to his death late December 2014, Chief Mrs. Stella Okoli's estranged husband, Barrister Nnaemeka Christopher Okoli had been critically ill for long. He was diagnosed of lung cancer in 2004 and battled the deadly ailment all along before he passed on. He was said to have shuttled between Nigeria and the UK where he received Chemotheraphy. Those close to the family said he lived a sorry life after he left his wife Chief Stella Okoli.

When his health was not getting better he decided to stay there in the UK for proper medical care. Though Barrister Okoli had separated from his wife Chief Mrs. Stella Okoli, who is the founder of Emzor Pharmaceuticals Limited, she (Stella) was still responsible for his medical bills abroad. Barrister Okoli later died at the age of 71 and was buried in his home town on Saturday January 3, 2014 after a funeral service at St. Joseph Parish Arondizuogu, Imo state.

Late Barrister Nnaemeka Okoli was born on April 12, 1943 in Ndi Akunwanta, Arondizuogu Imo state, he was the fourth in a family of seven children. He studied Law at Kings College London and after his masters he was offered a job at the New Scotland Yard and later opened his own Law firm. He met his wife then Miss Stella Chinyelu Modebelu, they were married in 1970 and they welcomed their first child, a son, Emeka in 1972. Another one followed in 1973 - Uzoma. Their third child after they relocated back to Nigeria from the UK, Chike came in 1980.

Unfortunately Chike died in 2005, so painful was his death that his mother Chief Mrs. Stella Okoli set up a foundation in his name - The Chike Okoli Foundation established to promote enterpreneurship, an ideal the late Chike Okoli championed before his death.

With the death of her husband, Mrs. Okoli would no doubt take a leave from high society parties for now. Those who know her affirm she is a party freak and no social event without her in attendance, but for now she would have to withdraw into her shell at least to mourn her late husband, Nnaemeka
