YENI KUTI's EX HUSBAND, FEMI SEGUN DIES IN POWER BIKE ACCIDENT

Femi Segun, former husband of Yeni Kuti, daughter of the late Fela Kuti has passed away.
Femi, son of female writer Mabel Segun , died due to complications from multiple injuries sustained in a road accident while driving his power motor bike in Lagos a week ago. He is said to have died in the morning, friday March 21, 2014 at LASUTH Ikeja Lagos.
The creative industry has lost one of its talented Master of Ceremony, broadcaster, diplomat and Voice Over Artist who anchored the 3rd Abuja International Film festival in 2006 Mr Femi Segun. Femi you were a great friend, loyalty, commitment and devotion to your trade was your watch word. I remember how you ife re to assist with the abuja film festival. I remember with nostalgia when you told me you were contesting for one of 3 the senatorial positions during the 2014 election. FS, you were a gentleman as such may your gentle soul rest in peace as I wish the Segun family especially mama Mabel Segun the fortitude to bear this loss.

Segun’s death came as a surprise to many of his friends who took to the social media to express shock and disbelief at the development, he died after one week of being hospitalised and his corpse deposited at LASUTH morgue. Yeni talked about her ex’s accident during an episode of TV show ‘Your View’ which airs on TVC.
According to his LinkedIn page, Segun was up on till his shocking death, the CEO of Coltrane Nigeria Ltd, a ‘one-stop provider of multi-sector and ancillary logistic solutions. He was also the director of research and protocol at the Lagos Black Heritage Festival from 2010 to 2013. He was a master compere and speaker of note. Segun had another child from another woman after separating from Yeni, he was very active, participating in the yearly Felabration. He was seen wearing his ubiquitous combat shorts in October, last year at the week-long music festival held at the New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos. Segun was also present at Femi Kuti‘s 50th birthday celebration back in 2012.
