GHANAIAN SOCCER STAR, JOHN MENSAH SELLS MANSION TO FUND DIVORSE SETTLEMENT

Mensah
Ghanaian footballer, John Mensah has put up his plush Trassaco Valley Estates mansion in Accra for sale to fund the cost of his divorce from wife Henrietta.

Reports reveal that the initial $500,000 alimony demanded by former Mrs Mensah was beaten down to GH 150,000 during the protracted arbitration which eventually ended last January. Mensah’s four children and Henrietta moved into a rented apartment of her choice after they left the Trassaco Facility at Adjiriganor in Accra which the former Lyon star paid a fortune for. Mensah and Henrietta had a massive misunderstanding which cost their divorce and led to the former Sunderland defender abandoning his matrimonial home for his former house at Aplaku, bequeathed earlier to his mother and siblings.

John and his wife were married under Ordinance and, thus, by law were required to share equally all the properties acquired by them during the period the relationship lasted. These included houses and plots of land in and around Accra, a beverage factory on the Kasoa- Bawjiase road and cars. He was also tasked by the court to commit to a fixed monthly remittance for the upkeep of the children.

In the divorce suit, Henrietta, a former actress, accused the powerful the 31 year old defender of being a playboy who had neglected his family obligations but in his defense, the player maintained that those accusations were baseless and unfounded.

Henrietta. Ghanaian Court in October 2013 ruled for a divorce and an agreement was reached for settlement of properties belonging to both couples which includes the shocking sale of the state of the art facility and proceeds from the sales will be shared equally.
