HOW PERSONAL PHYSICIAN PREDICTED ORONTO DOUGLAS' DEATH THREE WEEKS AGO, HIS YEARS OF BATTLE WITH CANCER

Oronto Douglas, a top Presidential aide and the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Research, Documentation and Strategy has reported dead. Douglas who has been sick for several years was battling cancer-related illness. He died Thursday morning at the State House Clinic, he is survived by a wife and children

President Goodluck Jonathan who visited his family on Thursday said Mr. Oronto Douglas, was aware he would die. He said medical doctors had earlier told him in the United States that he had three weeks to live. He said, “He (Douglas) was a very dedicated young man; very committed. “I was here last Saturday: even though he knew (of his imminent death) because the doctors told him in America that he was going to die in three weeks but, he was still very passionate about his work.

“I have never seen such a person with such a strong will. Oronto was a good man, he left us too early but God knows the best. “I only pray that God should provide for the family and pray that his soul should rest in peace.”

The late Douglas battled the deadly ailment for years before he finally succumbed this morning, at a time he appeared to have survived until recently when his condition nosedived. He was 49 years old at death.
