WIFE DONATES KIDNEY TO SICK HUSBAND AS "VALENTINE" GIFT

A 28years old Chinese woman Sun Guofang has donated her kidney to husband Li Fangdong who needs a transplant as they prepare to mark this years Valentine.
“I want to ‪#‎donate‬ my ‪#‎kidney‬ to my husband to keep him alive,” says Sun Guofang, as reported in Chinese media today
Sun’s husband, 33-year-old Li Fangdong, was diagnosed with ‪#‎uremia‬ last July at a hospital in Jinan city, the capital of east China’s Shandong Province. The news came as quite a shock to the family. According to Sun, her mother-in-law, who died two years ago, had suffered from uremia since 2009. Her treatment over time had plunged the family into debt.
Although they remained resolute in making it through the difficult times, once Li was diagnosed with the illness, his resolve began to crumble. Such was his state that although Sun had immediately offered to donate one of her kidneys, he refused to accept.
Sun who said they have been married for six years have already gone for assess test if her kidney would be a match for her husband. Much to her pleasure, the doctors told her that she was a perfect match.
“This is the best gift (I can give him) for Valentine’s Day. After he recovers, we can go shopping together,” she says. The couple will undergo a preoperative examination in late February after the Spring Festival. Their biggest concern at the moment, however, is the medical fees.
“The surgery might cost around 200,000 yuan ($32,063). I don’t have that much money, but I will never give up. When we got married, he had promised to take care of me throughout my life. I will make sure that he does,” Sun insisted.
